Treats and scratches under the chin and lovin and sunshine and shade and and and ….. whew! Awesome!
How is Toby doing? He is beautiful (but then again, I am biased since I also have a golden, ha! ha!) Is he able to hop around by himself yet, or do you have to help him with a sling? Is he still on any pain meds and antibiotics? How is his incision site? Any oozing or fluid accumulation?
Jake had his surgery on the 17th too… He seems to be doing fine as long as we’re kissing and cuddling with him (he always loved affection!)… otherwise, he sleeps alot. But he is 10yrs old and was a big couch potatoe before the surgery!
Good luck for a speedy recovery Toby!!!
He’s doing pretty well. He can hop around by himself better than if I try to help. I think helping disrupts his balance and rhythm. I ordered a harness for him that arrived today but I’m not sure we’ll use it unless we’re loading and unloading from the car, etc.
He’s still taking all three medications he came home with. I’m only giving him the pain medication twice a day and that seems to be enough. His incision looks good – no oozing or fluid but the vet said I could expect to see that. I just wish we’d hear back on the results of the pathology report. Maybe today.
Kissing and cuddling is the norm around here too! As you know, they are such affectionate dogs and are always happy when there’s a hand on them. We’ve put a blowup bed on the floor next to his dog bed and spend part of the night sleeping next to him.
Like Jake, he’s sleeping a lot too. Unfortunately, he use to spend most days alone while we were working so I’m sure he sleeps most of the day anyway. I’m going to try to change my work schedule so I can either take him with me or work from home some… Ahhh, the sacrifices we make for our beloved pets!
Thanks for checking in. Hugs to you all. Tina
