Waiting for the biopsy results.

We find out today which type of sarcoma Toby has. His amputation is scheduled for tomorrow. I’m very grateful for all of the support I’ve found on this site. I’m scared and this site always makes me feel better. Thanks!

  1. Hi Toby,
This is Jake’s Mom. Wishing Toby a successful surgery and a speedy recovery after his amputation today. Let me know how it went!!

Jake is having his surgery tomorrow. We are so nervous and scared tonight… Well Jake isn’t, since he has no clue what’s going on… I can’t imagine what we’ll be feeling like all day tomorrow!

  2. Thanks Marguerite – Actually Toby’s surgery is scheduled for tomorrow too. We’re scared but ready to get the infect limb removed. He’s in some pain because of the biopsy procedure. I think we really pissed the tumor off! This is a journey I’m dreading but I’m going to approach it with optimism. Thank you for your kind words. Golden Retrievers are such great pets – I’m so much richer for the experience of having him in my life. I’ll keep you posted. Tina (Toby’s Mom)

  3. How is Toby doing after his surgery? So far, things are going as well as can be expected with Jake… though honestly, I really don’t know what to expect. I guess I imagined that he would be running (hopping) around by now… but that’s silly… it’s only been 2 days since his surgery. I still keep wondering if we did the right thing… But when I see him look at me and smile (yes our goldens do smile!) I feel glad that we did.

  4. Hey Marguerite – we had a pretty good day. He’s been getting up and down to relocate (to where ever I am) and go outside. I was hoping his need to follow me everywhere I go would start to subside but it hasn’t. I’m trying to stay in one room as long as possible. He’s probably exhausted. He’s been eating well and seems to be resting comfortably. While rubbing him earlier, I noticed a lump on his back right foot… I’m thinking the worse but I can only deal with crises at a time. Hopefully we’ll get the final results from the pathologist soon so we know exactly what type of cancer we’re dealing with. I’m so happy that Jake is feeling better. I hope you all have a good night’s rest. I’ll look forward to more posts & pictures. Take care, Tina
